A member asked:

My wife was confirmed that, one of the fallopian tube was blocked when tested by hsg, can she ovulate and how do we know.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Can ovulate: Ovulation occurs even when tubes are blocked. The ovaries take turns having the mature egg. Using ultrasound we can see which side has the mature egg. It is possible to conceive with ovulation on the blocked side by the egg crossing over. If the tube is blocked at the far end - hydrosalpinx - this could be affecting implantation. If the hsg showed hydrosalpinx she should see a md to remove it.
