Thyroiditis: Your wife may have had thyroiditis, if no symptoms then it was silent thyroiditis. Inflammation of thyroid causes thyroid to leak hormone and TSH to be low, as recovers TSH goes high and eventually usually in about 2 mths goes back to normal.
