Possibly related: Hiatal hernia is a known manifestation of ed. Both hh and ed can cause pain but hh frequently has no symptoms and if there is pain, it is usually due to acid reflux. The question you need to ask your GI doctor is, "how do you know this is not due to acid reflux?" if s/he cannot give you a clear explanation, seek a second opinion. Reflux is treatable so it is worth it to be sure.
