Nonsteroidal med: Nosteroidal anti inflammatory drugs like Motrin Aleve (naproxen) etc are better though Codeine containing drugs can be used for pain relief.

Costochondritis: Take Aleve (naproxen) or naproxyn 375 mg twice daily for associated costochondritis rib pain. Ensure that there is no herpes zoster lesion present.
