Strokes with migraine, seems most associated with auras, cigarette smoking, and hormonal use. The root cause of your episodes is genetic, which changes your brain glutamate sensitivity.

Migraine: Old lacunar infarcts are from small strokes in the brain and if you are having stroke-like symptoms they could be related and the neurologist will be helpful here.
