Varied: There are a number of possibilities. To be honest, after such an injury, a good exam is much more useful than an mri. The two main reasons it would not be seen is if it was cut and retracted into your hand, or of there was enough soft tissue injury and swelling that it was there but could not be visualized. Again, the results of an exam would tell me more than an mri. Thanks.
