What is the biggest difference between type 1 diabetes and type 2?

Lack of insulin: Type 1s cannot make Insulin at all and therefore must always be treated with insulin. Type 2s make insulin, just not enough to overcome the Insulin resistance, so either need more Insulin or need to be less resistant.
