Psychology: Our hearts and our heads are not always integrated, we often know what we should do but nevertheless find ourselves governed by our emotions rather than our thinking. Best.

Opposite behaviors: It is very common for people to understand what behaviors are good for them and then to have trouble following through on them. We all know exercise is healthy, yet many people do not engage in exercise, even after joining a gym. Eating wisely and living a healthy lifestyle take effort and are not always immediately rewarding. Always try to think about the consequences of your choices.

Labels : Instead of finding a convenient label for this behavior, look into the question of what the patient is getting out of the behavior. Just because we come up with a label does not mean that we have an answer for the phenomenon that we are seeing nor how we can help the patient.
