Variety of causes: Snapping hip syndrome ( whether internal or external ) can be seen for a variety of reasons and underlying causes. Most patients referred to me w/ this dx.Are women and many have had children. Others are younger( usually in their teens) when the dx. Is made . A thorough history and exam( occ. Augmented w/ a good quality mri)will yield the specific type and tx.Can then ensue.Good luck!
