Immune deficiency: See the doctor for blood tests for an immune deficiency. Allergies and reflux can also cause recurrent ear infections. Exposure to tobacco smoke is a common cause of recurrence.

Protect ear from H2O: First step is to protect your child's ears from water (especially bath water). Use soft silicone moldable ears plugs ( OTC). Water protection is a somewhat controversial topic on which many ear / ear-nose-throat physicians do not agree. However, before doing something complicated, like an immune evaluation, try water protection. It has solved similar problems for many patients that I have seen.
