A member asked:

I recently underwent a leep for cin 3. the results showed no signs of cancer but had unclear margins/gland involvement. what is glandular involvement?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

LEEP biopsy: Cin3 is severe dysplasia without invasion (invasion = cancer). Within the the endocervix there are endocervical glands. If dysplasia involves these small glands it is known as glandular involvement. Most concerning is the positive margins. The goal is to have negative margins. You will probably end up having another procedure possibly a cone biopsy. Speak to your doctor.
