Hi,i have hpv strain 16. leep was done, cin3 with no clear margins.can my husband also now get cancer from this and how would we know?what to look out for with oral cancers? we are both smokers

HPV16 and cancer: Particular strains of HPV16 are no more likely to cause cancer than others. Your husband is at no more cancer risk just because you were unlucky and developed dysplasia. Millions in the US have HPV16 and the large majority will never get genital or oral cancer. No special precautions are needed. It's OK to continue unprotected sex. But do stop smoking, which may increase risk of HPV16 canccer.

There is no point in trying to guess. It is good that you are getting LEEP. Your impression of a low risk of cancer is correct. Wish you good health!
