I just had a ct scan of my chest which shows a 3cm lung bullae. what does this mean? how bad is it and what could treat it?

Pneumothorax: The presence of bulla makes you more at risk of pneumothorax in which the bulla ruptures causing that side of the lung to collapse. It can be surgically treated but you should consult a thoracic surgeon or two before going ahead.

No treatment: A bullae is an air filled space in the lung that has replaced the normal lung structures. Bullae can be a result of infection, inflammation, smoking. There is no treatment, it is best to think of them like a scar.
