Just a wild guess: But it sounds like a "banana bag". Sometimes we give patients IV fluids with vitamins, electrolytes, minerals, etc. This is most frequently done in the setting of alcohol use, but not exclusively. The additives make the IV fluid look yellow. Thus, the "banana" bag.
