Does have some risks: Ct scans do expose you to a modest dose of radiation which is not harmful if you have good indications for doing this test and there is no better alternative. Virtual colonoscopy is not yet proven to replace standard colonoscopy. Moreover it is recommended only for over 50 years of age. Since you are 23 year old, you have to have a good reason to have virtual colonoscopy instead of regular exams.
