BV: Bv and recurrent candidiasis (yeast) can be repeatedly passed back to you by your sexual partner. While being treated for these your partner should be applying appropriate antibiotic and antifungal creams to his penis and you should be treated through one menstrual period. Try this first, but yes, boric acid is safe.
