Weight based: Doses of medicine for infants and children is weight based, not age based. The size of an 8 month-old can vary greatly, so thee is not a 'one-size-fits-all' answer here. Need to know how much your child weighs rather than age to help you out.

Check label: Because tylenol (acetaminophen) comes in different concentrations and the dose is dependent on weight it is important that you follow the dosing on the bottle.

Read the box panel: The dosage depends on your baby's weight/age and the strength the manufacturer has packaged. Please read the box panel. If in doubt, ask the local pharmacist or your baby's pediatrician before giving any medications.

7 mg/lb every 4 hour: 7 mg per pound every 4-6 hours. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is safe and effective for relieving teething pain in infants. If concerned, ask your pediatrician. Good luck!
