Not really: Pregnant woman should seriously quit smoking as it can effect the pregnancy and the baby. But some women find it very difficult to quit cold turkey. But one has to be motivated for the sake of unborn infant. She has been ill advised if she was by her doctor but it is hard to believe.

I disagree: No matter how she quits, she should do it right away ; never start again, particularly around the baby when it comes.
