A member asked:

Leg numbness after heart cath. normal? if so, for how long until feeling normal again?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Meralgia?: Since the heart cath approach is usually at the groin level, the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve may have been stretched or compressed at the hip causing antero-lateral thigh numbness, or other nerves can be also stretched or compressed. Typically recovery can be achieved in 3-4 weeks.
