A member asked:

Last few months i've had mucus in my throat, that i hack up 3 to 4 times a day. its mostly green with some red (blood?) don't feel sick. what is it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Several posibilities: This could be coming from above as post-nasal discharge from sinus infection, from a chronic inflammatory condition around the back of the nose and throat (including cancers), from below in the superior portion of the esophagus or the tracheobronchial tree, etc. Anytime you are coughing up blood you need to be seen asap and have this diagnosed and managed appropriately. Good luck.
