Chlamydia treatment: It is exceedingly unlikely you hae had chlamydia for 17 years. The longest proved infection is 4 years, and even that is rare. The immune system clears most infections within a few months and almost always within a year. But whatever the duration and source of your infection, doxycycline always cures it. If tested too soon (before 3 weeks), test often still pos; but it will turn negative.
