That is a symptom of depression.: Merely thinking that one is depressed is itself a symptom of depression. Your doctor can explain to you all the other physical signs and symptoms that go into depression. These include feeling helpless hopeless worthless and guilty, having low motivation concentration and attention span, and inability to enjoy things, insomnia or too much sleep and eating too little or eating too much. Then there is the depressive feeling itself and the suicidal thoughts that often accompany it. You are posing the question anyway in a what- if fashion however it makes me wonder if you may have a component of generalized anxiety disorder in which case i would please request that you talk to your psychiatrist about this.

Dr Jacobson did an: Excellent job discussing depression. See that you are 16 years old. Depression is listed as a condition. Was this a self- diagnosis or 1 made by a health care professional. If you haven't been formally evaluated then talk with your parents about a psychiatric evaluation - this will lead to help. If you have been formally diagnosed - discuss your thoughts and concerns with your provider. Take care.
