i've been depressed all my life. i find myself worrying and repeating things. like checking the door after i've already locked it. thinking what if i didn't or what if somehow it unlocked. i want help but it's hard to tell people.

Certainly : There is definitely help available, you took this excellent step. Your PCP would be good to start for a good physical and r/o some medical issues, and they can refer you to a psychiatrist, getting a counselor would also be important. THere are good medication and non-med options
