Neck pain: It still could be muscular, coming from on of upper back muscles most likely rhomboid muscle or from inside your neck, see physical therapist in your area, if therapy won't help you need an MRI i consult with pain doctor in your area.

Nerve pain: Neck and back pain with radiation to arm might represent a nerve pain. It can be from either spinal stenosis, or ruptured disc, or nerve impingement ... The treatment depends on the cause of the pain. It might include strengthening exercise, physical therapy, medication, injections ... You should seek help from a pain specialist for evaluation.

Agree; sounds like u may have a radiculopathy of C6. Most common cause in your age would be a cervical disc.other treatment option would be an evaluation by either an orthopedic or neurosurgeon.
