Vertebroplasty: There is a minimally invasive procedure that is out patient for compression fractures. Most patients are candidates if they have pain and no spinal cord compression. See a neurosurgeon about kyphoplasty or vertebroplasty. Cement is injected into the vertebra to prevent further collapse and help with the pain.

Endocrinologist: Sending her to see a specialist that deals with metabolic bone disease is where i would start. They can see what treatments she has taken for osteoporosis and see if they can modify those treatments to avoid future fractures.

Stabilizes fracture: Kyphoplasty is an excellent treatment for patients with osteoporotic compression fractures that are failing conservative care or are in debilitating pain. It relieves the pain by stabilizing the fracture. Check out kyphon.Com.
