Many ways: There are many physical exam findings for thyroid disorders including: goiter (enlarged thyroid), thyroid bruit (loud bloodflow), proximal muscle weakness, tremor, decreased reflexes or prolonged relaxation phase, exopthalmos (protruding eyes), stridor (wheezing), skin/nail/hair changes, edema. Fast or slow heart rate, decreased or increased gut motility and mental status changes.
