Protein: A vegetarian diet can be very healthy, as long as you get enough protein through other sources. Vitamins generally aren't the issue. You can find plenty of information on healthy vegetarian diets on the internet or in cookbooks.

I agree: You can get the vitamins you need from a diet that doesn't include animal products. Many vegetarians are able to do this. If you have not done this before, you might want to consult with a dietician or physician to go over the details of what you will exclude from your diet and how to get the correct nutrients in a balanced diet.
