Yes: Blurring for a few minutes with eye drops of any kind is a normal response in many patients and we don't call that a side effect. Systane has preservatives that you may be allergic to and that will cause redness and itchy eyes in which case you should stop using it.

Ophthalmology visit: Possibly, you have some other aspect of dry eye....Meibomianitis, blapharitis or lacrimal obstruction. You should see an ophthalmologist for a complete eye exam.

yes: The eye is very sensitive. Brief periods of discomfort after applying eye drops is considered normal. Should the discomfort persist, and increase in pain, then a doctor should be contacted.
