Statin: It will take about 6 weeks on a stable dose and diet to know what the statin dose will accomplish. If not at goal at that time, diet or dose adjustment will be needed. Many drs. Check earlier to be sure no other problems are appearing. Once goal or equilibrium has been reached, infrequent rechecks are appropriate.
