Hernia : Especially if this was an open repair (non-laparoscopic), the wound can itch and this is normal. Just make sure that you are not dealing with a wound infection. Excessive redness, heat or pain/drainage would be indicative of that.

Yes: As you pass through the proliferative phase of wound healing, it is normal to feel an itching sensation. Try not to scratch too hard though. See your surgeon if you think something is wrong. Hope this helps!
