A better med?: Lexapro (escitalopram) is an antidepressant and diazepam is a drug used to treat anxiety. How about trying psychotherapy instead? Good psychotherapy often works better than medication for the kinds of problems you seem to be having. Ask your primary care doctor to recommend a good psychologist.
