Genitofemoral nerve: L1 and L2 is nerve root arise from lumbar spine. One branch from each level join together to make genitofemoral nerve.It is not a different function, but different location. If one branch affected at L1 , L2 will still work so you don't loose function of genitofemoral nerve completely.
