I would...: An ultrasound test or MRI will tell if you have done any real damage to the vascular system - especially when Coumadin (warfarin) use is involved.

superficial clot?: Sounds like superficial phlebitis. Why are you on coumadin (warfarin)? An ultrasound will painlessly evaluate for both deep and superficial clot.
