see answer: Assuming you have a small skin lesion, the procedure would most likely involve a local numbing procedure and excisional removal/biopsy of the site. Cauterization may be used to treat post procedure, or a suture closure depending on the area and surgeon. Assuming this is the case, local care and a band aide covering the area should not preclude any normal activity. Best wishes.

Minimal effect: on work. A small mole like that should not effect your work as a fitness trainer. The procedure can usually be done in the office under local anesthesia. There may be a suture or two that will close the wound. Just keep the area clean. Apply a topical antibiotic to prevent infection.
