Toddler 2 years old is withholding poop. started this issue late august. using milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) a few times a week to help. diet is full if fibre.

Stool saver: Your child may have passed a hard stool and as a result he doesnt want to poop. Give him MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) to the point of inducing a diarrhea. At the same time begin retraining, that is take him to the washroom at the same time every day. Cut back on the MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) as he improves.

see details: Do not use milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) in a 2 year ago, especially so frequently. The issue needs to be evaluated. See your pediatrician and stop self-treating the child before you make matters much worse.
