Diarrhea: This may be an effect of the milk of magnesia, (magnesium hydroxide) although it usually doesn't last that long. If it's due to the medicine, it should resolve over the next day or two. If the diarrhea persists, be sure to drink lots of fluids to avoid dehydration. Call your doctor if the diarrhea lasts longer than a week, if it worsens, or if new symptoms develop. Good luck.
