A member asked:

Are some people prone to infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, but.......: As an internist i see many people come in with the thought they are somehow more prone or susceptible to infections than others. This isn't necessarily true. It's actually very uncommon to have some sort of immune system problem or other condition which would make one more susceptible to infections. Sometimes medications can do this, such as steroids and chemotherapy.
