Supply and demand: Microbes need a warm home w/lots of nutrition. Some like it hot ; some survive in colder climes. Some like moist areas ; some like areas with little oxygen. On the skin staph, strep, and dermatophytes abound. In the mouth ; sinuses organisms that like a little air, moisture ; can withstand oral chemicals survive, in the gut organisms that like a dark, quiet place w/o oxygen ; w/good food survive.
