Xanax (alprazolam) effects: Xanax (alprazolam) is a medication for anxiety. It is not a medication for sleep as you have been taking it at hs(bedtime) drowsiness is a side effect of the medication which is likely due to xanax (alprazolam) 0.5mg. Please see a psychiatrist for diagnosis and treatment of anxiety, benefits and side effects of medications for anxiety, and psychotherapy.
