no: Some who get blepharoplasty are at an age where cataracts can develop but that is just a matter of similar timing and age. Blepharoplasty is upon the lids and the eye is not touched or changed.

I do not think so: Blepharoplasty is done on the eyelids. I am unable to think of any connection to cause cataract.

Typically no: Typically not unless there was trauma to the eyeball with the blepharoplasty surgery, which would be very uncommon to rare (I have never seen or heard of). Very small possibility that drops or ointment, used after the bleparoplasty procedure, containing Steroid could induce or cause cataracts.

Blepharoplasty: Blepharoplasty does not induce cataract formation.

Bleph Complication: There are numerous complications possible from blepharoplasty, but cataracts are not among them. You may be at an age where cataracts may form normally, so if you happen to get a blepharoplasty and then a cataract is diagnosed, you may believe it was because of the surgery. Rest assured that it was not.

No: Cataracts are caused by a build up of protein in the lens which causes clouding. This would have nothing to do with a blepharoplasty.
