Nose bleed: Hello, it would be logical to assume that the blood you are seeing originates from your nose bleed. Blood that seeps into your nose will form clots and lay in the nose. Once you rise in the am, the nose will mobilize the mucus/blood to begin the "nasal cleaning process". It would be unlikely to come from the lungs.

Bloody mucus: More than likely you had a bloody post nasal drip and the blood is not from your lungs.
