Yes: You can have a DVT without pain. In view of your swelling and history it is worth getting an ultrasound exam of the veins in your leg. Sorry for the trouble.

Yes. : Dvt can present with painlessly. If the dvt/'s are in your left leg and especially if they were unprovoked, talk to your doctor about may thurner syndrome. If you have a dvt, you should wear compression stockings daily to reduce the risk of post-thrombotic syndrome.

Yes: It is possible to have a DVT without pain. It is more likely, however, that you are experiencing post-thrombotic syndrome, a condition in which the veins are not working properly to return blood from the legs to the heart. This is a common late complication of a significant dvt. An ultrasound will rule out fresh clot(new dvt) and can evaluate vein function

It is possible.: The most common symptom of DVT is pain and the most common physical finding is swelling. However, not everyone has these. If you have unexplained swelling with or without calf or thigh pain especially with a clotting disorder, then a venous ultrasound would be indicated to look for a dvt. Sometimes even a ct scan or mrv is necessary. You should be evaluated.

Dvt: It is unlikely though based on her history possible, to not have discomfort associated with the DVT. Based on her history I would recommend that a venous Doppler ultrasound be performed to evaluate the situation as you do have swelling.
