See your Dr: There are a number of possibilities for what could be wrong, some with serious implications. If the rash feels sandpapery, it may have been caused by strep, & could warn of further complications. Your child needs to see her dr, the sooner, the better.

Get her tested: Chances are she will feel better soon if you do nothing. However, this does sound like strep a & you have 8-10 days from the start of symptoms to identify & treat strep to stop the long term consequences. Rheumatic fever (injury to heart or brain) can quietly come ~a month down the road, kidney injury may already be in the works. Proper rx with abx can stop this before it starts, make the call.
