IBS (irritable bowel: Syndrome) is common and affects the large intestine (colon), causing cramping, abdominal pain, bloating gas, diarrhea and constipation.Ibs does not cause permanent colon damage. It may be controlled by diet (add fiber, eliminate high gas foods), stress reducing lifestyle changes, counseling if significant depression or other stress, and sometimes medications otc or from prescriber. Best regards.
