Sure: If there's no other reason for you not to. The most important thing for a mitral valve prolapse person is not to become overly concerned about it. It is very common and is very unlikely to cause you any troubles. I would urge you to take endocarditis prophylaxis at the dentist, but other physicians think even this isn't needed.

Probably.: I would not worry much about your birth control pill in relation to mitral valve prolapse. However, it's been six years since your mitral valve has been re-evaluated. Mitral insufficiency, regardless of the cause, can be progressive and should be re-evaluated intermittently through life. There are increasing options for treatment if the valve dysfunction is progressive.
