Hormones come in : Many flavors. The steroids we use for anti-inflammatory purposes have zero "body-building" properties and are the glucocorticoids. There are quite a few. We pick from the Prednisone the hydrocortisone, the dexamethasone, etc. Based on our particular needs and the properties of the steroid. Anabolic steroids (body-building) testosterone are completely different. I hope this helps a little.

No: The steroids used by body builders are Anabolic steroids which build up muscle tissue with weight lifting. Anti-inflammatory steroids are used in nerve block injections to decrease inflammation believed to be involved in the pain response.
