Yes: Hi. Yes, "steroid hormones" (specially glucocorticoids) can suppress a number of immune system functions. A classic example is prednisone. It is used to suppress immune system functions like inflammation and transplanted tissue rejection. some autoimmune reactions (which involve inflammation), etc. Increased risk of certain infections with glucocorticoid therapy.
