See gastroenterologi: 6 months of diarrhea suggests colitis or malabsorption. Get checked out by a gastroenterologist. You will probably need a colonoscopy.

6 mo diarrhea: Very abnormal. Time for your husband to see a doctor for examinations and tests to find out what the cause of the diarrhea is and then institute proper treatment.
