See dentist: You should see your dentist for a full evaluation and dental cleaning twice a year. Sounds like you have gingivitis, either infection or inflammation of the gums. Your dentist will let you know what to do to treat it and keep it from returning. It is very important that you get this taken care of. You could have periodontal disease, be using too hard a brush, be brushing wrong or other things.

Be careful!: While bleeding gums are the first sign of periodontal /gum diseases, there are several other reasons for chronic bleeding from gum lines. These reasons could be as simple as brushing improperly, or even "mouth breathing" (which makes the front teeth gum lines very red and bleeding, ) or as serious as having systemic or blood diseases. Please see you dentist first. He may refer you to others too.

Dental visit ?: When was the last time you had a professional cleaning at your dentist's office? Brushing alone, even twice a day, does not remove all accumulations, and does not guarantee healthy gums... It just helps. Although periodontitis takes a while to cause damage, the time to act is now.. Call for an appointment.

see answer below: It is possible you have gingivitis which is an inflammation of the gums due to plaque or some other bacterial irritation i would suggest a consultation with your dentist to best diagnose and treat the problem.

See DDS: Have a complete clinical and radiographic examination by your DDS to rule out any pathology. Are you using dental floss on at least a twice daily basis? Have the hygienist instruct you on the proper brushing and flossing techniques and keep your hygiene visits on a prescribed basis.
