Hard to tell: Cold sores come and go--weeks or years intervals depending upon your immune system and other factors like weather, meds, etc. If you traumatized the tissue, it's possible you may have disrupted the viral prodrome, but i haven't seen that happen. Some meds do that (abreva, benzalkonium chloride, others), but I am unaware of a similar effect with isopropyl "rubbing" alcohol-doesn't mean it can't.
